Getting started

Where should I start?

Start by choosing the pathway that best fits where you are right now. If you're looking to change career, begin with the Career Change Pathway, which starts with Reflect.

Then introduce yourself in the community. Share where you are in your career right now and what you'd like to change.

What is Reflect, Rebrand, Relaunch?

Reflect, Rebrand, Relaunch is the framework behind the Career Change Pathway:

  • Reflect: get clear on your skills, strengths and priorities, and identify roles that genuinely fit.
  • Rebrand: translate your experience so employers understand its value.
  • Relaunch: build the confidence and strategy to move forward with a practical plan.

Work through it in order, at your own pace. You can return to any stage whenever you need to. Content for each stage is still being added, so you'll see the pathway build up over time.

How much time do I need to put in?

The Lab is self-paced, so you can fit it around work and life. Steady progress makes the biggest difference, so it helps to set aside a regular slot each week, even a short one.

Can I share my login?

No. Each membership is for one person, and your login is for your own use only.

Live mentorship sessions

When are the live sessions?

There's one 90-minute live group mentorship session on Zoom each month. Dates and times are shared inside the Lab.

What if I can't make it live?

Every session is recorded, and the recording is available inside the Lab so you can catch up whenever suits you.

Do I have to be on camera?

No. Sessions are recorded, so if you'd rather not appear in the recording, keep your camera off and use the chat to take part.

Can I download or share the recordings?

No. Recordings are for members only and are available inside the Lab. Please don't download or share them, as they may include other members.

What if a session needs to move?

If a session has to be moved, it will be rescheduled and you'll be told inside the Lab.

Tools & content

What's included in my membership?
  • Helix, your AI career coach (beta)
  • A 90-minute live group mentorship session every month
  • The member community
  • The Lab's career pathways, including the Career Change Pathway
  • Video trainings, with new videos added every week
  • Practical tools, such as CV templates, the interview example generator and the values card sort, released as each one is ready

The Lab is growing quickly, so not everything is in place yet. Everything that's added is included in your membership at no extra cost.

Why isn't everything in the Lab yet?

As an early member, you've joined while the Lab is still being built, which is why founding members pay less. Video trainings are added every week, and often more frequently. Tools are released once they've been fully tested and polished, so they work properly when you use them.

You'll get every new video and tool as it's added, at no extra cost.

Can I share the templates and trainings with others?

Lab materials are for your own career development. Please don't copy, share, resell or publish them. Anything you create with them, like your own CV, is yours.

Helix, your AI career coach

What is Helix?

Helix is the Lab's own AI-powered career coach. Use it to talk through your thinking, reflect on your skills and priorities, and keep momentum between steps of the pathway.

How do I log in to Helix?

You log in to Helix with your email address.

Are my Helix conversations private?

Your conversations are saved so you can pick up where you left off. They can only be accessed by logging in with your email. For more on how your data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.

What does "beta" mean?

Helix is still being developed and will keep improving. While it's in beta, it may occasionally be unavailable or give an answer that isn't quite right. Your experience helps shape how it develops, so feedback is always welcome at [email protected].

Can I rely on what Helix tells me?

Treat Helix as a thinking partner. Its suggestions are guidance only and don't replace your own judgement, the live mentorship sessions, or professional advice. AI is a powerful tool for your career, but it works best alongside human support.

Community

What are the community standards?

The Lab is a supportive, professional and inclusive space. In short:

  • Treat everyone with respect. Discrimination, harassment and bullying are not allowed, full stop.
  • Keep challenge constructive: kind, focused on ideas rather than people, and offered to help.
  • What members share in the Lab stays in the Lab.
  • Don't share anyone's personal information without their permission.
  • Keep posts relevant to careers and personal development.
  • Use your real identity.

The full standards are in section 5 of the Lab Terms & Conditions.

Can I promote my business or services?

No. The Lab is not a selling platform. Self-promotion of any kind isn't allowed, including network marketing (MLM), affiliate links, personal businesses, unconnected products or services, and private messages to members to sell to them.

The only exception is something the Lab admin has approved in advance. Approval is unlikely, and is only given where something clearly benefits the whole group.

Can I screenshot or share posts?

No. Please don't screenshot, record, copy or share other members' posts, details or stories outside the community. Members need to feel safe being open here.

What should I do if something in the community worries me?

Contact the Lab admin at [email protected] rather than responding publicly. Concerns are taken seriously, and breaches of the standards can lead to posts being removed, a warning, or a membership being suspended or ended.

Membership & billing

When does my membership renew?

Your membership renews automatically at the end of each paid period, using your saved payment method, unless you cancel before your renewal date.

I'm a founding member. Will my price change?

No. If you joined at the founder price of £99/year, that price stays locked in for as long as your membership continues without a break.

How do I update my payment details?

You can manage your payment details through your Stripe customer portal. If you have any trouble, email [email protected].

What happens if a payment fails?

You'll be asked to update your payment details. If payment still isn't made, your access may be paused or ended, so it's worth updating your card as soon as you can.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of joining. If the Lab isn't right for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. Your access ends once the refund is processed.

The guarantee applies to your first payment only, not to renewals.

How do I cancel?

You can cancel at any time through your Stripe customer portal or by emailing [email protected].

What happens when I cancel?

Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep full access until the end of your current paid period. No partial refunds are given for unused time.

Can I rejoin later?

Yes, you're welcome back at any time. You'll pay the membership price in place when you rejoin. Founder pricing doesn't carry over once a membership has ended.

No questions match your search. Try a different word, or email [email protected] and we'll help.

Membership includes Helix, monthly live mentorship, the member community and the Lab's career pathways, including the Career Change Pathway, which follows the Reflect, Rebrand, Relaunch framework. Video trainings are added weekly. Practical tools, such as CV templates, the interview example generator and the values card sort, are released once each one is ready. Everything added during your membership is included at no extra cost. We may update, improve or replace content and tools, but we won't reduce the overall value of your membership in a significant way.

Live mentorship sessions. We hold one 90-minute live group mentorship session on Zoom each month. Dates and times are shared inside the Lab. Recordings are made available inside the Lab only, and must not be downloaded or shared. If a session has to be moved, we'll reschedule it and let you know.

They can only be accessed by logging in with your email. As a beta tool, Helix may occasionally be unavailable or give inaccurate answers. Its suggestions are for guidance only and do not replace your own judgement or professional advice.

No guaranteed outcomes. The Lab gives you guidance, tools and support. Results depend on your own effort and circumstances, so we can't guarantee any particular job, promotion, interview or salary.

5. Community, content and legal

Community standards. The Lab community is a supportive, professional space. By taking part, you agree to:

  • Treat everyone with respect. Discrimination, harassment and bullying are not allowed, full stop, whoever they are aimed at and for whatever reason. The Lab is an inclusive community. This includes, but is not limited to, the protected characteristics set out in the Equality Act 2010: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation.
  • Keep challenge constructive. Thoughtful, professional challenge is welcome and helps everyone grow. Criticism should be kind, focused on ideas rather than people, and offered to help.
  • No selling or self-promotion. The Lab is not a selling platform. Self-promotion of any kind is not allowed, including network marketing (MLM), affiliate links, personal businesses, products or services not connected to the Lab, and private messages to members to sell to them. The only exception is where the Lab admin has approved something in advance. Approval is unlikely, and will only be given where something clearly benefits the whole group rather than promoting an individual.
  • Respect confidentiality. What members share in the Lab stays in the Lab. Do not screenshot, record, copy or share other members' posts, details or stories outside the community.
  • Protect privacy. Do not share anyone's personal information without their permission.
  • Keep content appropriate. Do not post anything offensive, misleading, unlawful, or unrelated to careers and personal development.
  • Be yourself. Use your real identity and do not impersonate anyone else.
  • Raise concerns with us. If something in the community worries you, contact the Lab admin at [email protected] rather than responding publicly.

If these standards are broken, we may remove posts, give a warning, or suspend or end a membership, depending on how serious the issue is. If we end a membership for a serious or repeated breach, we won't refund the remaining period.

Your content. You keep ownership of anything you create or share, such as your CV or community posts. You give us permission to display what you post in the community so other members can see it.

Not professional advice. The Lab provides career coaching and education. It is not legal, financial, medical or mental health advice. If you need that kind of support, please speak to a qualified professional.

Our liability. We'll provide the Lab with reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for losses that weren't reasonably foreseeable, or for decisions you make based on Lab content. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid for your membership in the previous 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Availability. We aim to keep the Lab available at all times, but there may be occasional interruptions for maintenance or reasons outside our control.

Your data. We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. If a change significantly affects you, we'll tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel if you don't agree.
