Career change coaching for experienced professionals
You know you need a change. You just can't see what it looks like yet.
You've built years of skill and experience. You don't need to start again from the bottom. You need someone to help you work out where all of that fits next, and a plan to get you there.
"I couldn't have done this without you."
- Award-winning coach
- Accredited coach and NLP practitioner
- Clients from around the world
Does any of this sound familiar?
None of this means you're not good enough.
It means you don't yet have a clear route from where you are to where you want to be.
Why so many career changers stay stuck
Most people who want to change career end up in one of two places. Both are completely understandable, and almost everyone I work with has been in at least one of them. The trouble is, both can quietly cost you years.
"I'll stay put. At least it's safe."
So you wait for the right moment. The pension, the next restructure, the kids being older. Meanwhile the job takes a little more of you every year.
"Anything has to be better than this."
So you apply for everything. Your CV tries to suit every sector and ends up suiting none. The rejections start to feel personal, and your confidence drops with each one.
A planned move to work that fits who you are now.
Not a leap in the dark, and not another year of waiting. A clear direction, built on the experience you already have, with a plan you can actually follow.
Career change coaching for professionals in any sector
I work with people who have built real experience and now want it to lead somewhere that feels right. My clients come from education, healthcare, the public sector, charities, finance, retail management and corporate roles. What they share is the feeling that they've outgrown where they are.
This is for you if…
- You're mid-career and feel stuck, bored or burnt out
- You want work that matches your values, not just your CV
- You're thinking about the years before retirement and want them to count
- You've tried to move before and it didn't work
It's probably not for you if…
- You want someone to find a job for you
- You're looking for a quick CV tidy and nothing more
- You're not ready to make any changes yet, and that's absolutely fine
How it works: Reflect, Rebrand, Relaunch
A clear, three-stage process I've developed from years of helping people change direction. You always know what you're working on and why.
Reflect
Work out what you actually want next. We look at your strengths, values and non-negotiables, then narrow your options down to roles that genuinely fit.
Rebrand
Learn to describe your experience in the language of the sector you're moving into. Your CV, LinkedIn and applications are rebuilt around one clear direction.
Relaunch
Reach the right people, including roles that are never advertised. Practise interviews until you feel ready, and walk in able to explain why you're the right fit.
What it feels like on the other side
Something shifts in the very first session. Clients tell me they walk away lighter, because for the first time in a long time they know where they're going.
That lighter feeling stays with them through the whole process. And once they've landed the new role, the messages I get are about the small things. Meeting a friend for lunch on a weekday. Switching off at the weekend. Having the energy for the people they love.
Your life never went anywhere. It's just been buried under a career that doesn't fit. This is about getting to live it again.
What you'll leave with
- A direction you've chosen on purpose, not by default
- A CV and LinkedIn profile that make sense to employers in your new sector
- Fewer, better applications instead of dozens that go nowhere
- Interview confidence, with a real answer to "why are you changing career?"
- Belief in yourself again, which is usually the part people need most
What clients say
"I've done 2 days at my new job and it's honestly so refreshing to be valued, understood and respected for what I'm good at!"
"I would definitely recommend Kelly's services because she understood what I wanted even when I didn't know for sure myself. Her knowledge and expertise gave me an insight into ideas I didn't even think about."
"She was professional, insightful, and quickly understood my career transition goals. Her advice was practical, honest, and tailored to my situation. I particularly appreciated her integrity in focusing on guidance rather than selling services."
I've changed career myself. I know how lonely it can feel.
I'm Kelly. I spent nearly 20 years in education before burnout forced me to stop and ask what I actually wanted. Rebuilding from there taught me that experience never goes to waste. It just needs pointing in the right direction.
Now I help experienced professionals do the same, with honest, practical coaching that treats you as a whole person, not just a CV.

Explore the LabCareer change questions people ask me
Is it too late to change career at 40, 50 or 60?
No. Many of my clients are in their forties, fifties and beyond. Your experience is an advantage, not a barrier. The key is knowing how to present it to a new sector.
How do I change career without starting from scratch?
By identifying the skills you already have that a new employer values, and learning to describe them in that employer's language. Most people need far less retraining than they expect.
What if I don't know what I want to do next?
That's where most people start. The Career Clarity Session and the Reflect stage of the full programme are designed to help you narrow it down.
How long does a career change take?
Every career change is different. For some clients it takes around a month, for others it takes substantially longer. It depends on things like the salary and seniority you're aiming for and the sector you're moving into. My full programme runs for three months. If you've been actively applying for three months and haven't had any interviews, that's a good time to reach out for professional support.
Do you only work with teachers?
No. I work with experienced professionals from any sector. I also offer specialist support for teachers.
Is the coaching online, and where are you based?
All coaching is online by Zoom, so you can work with me wherever you are in the world.
How much does career change coaching cost?
From £99 for a Career Clarity Session to £945 for the full three-month programme, which you can spread over three monthly payments.
